Surftech, The City of Frankston and Peninsula Stand-Up Paddle School, with the support of SUP VIC present the 2014 SUP – The Open to be held on the Mornington Peninsula on January 18th & 19th.
Saturday will see the running of the 10km Downwind race, and Sunday will provide a series of fun events including a 6km, 1500m race, SUP-X and kids races.
The SUP – The Open event has been established with a number of objectives in mind.
Find the best Stand UP Paddlers in Australian Waters. In the the true spirit of an Open event, the SUP – The Open is open to all comers – just register, then go for it.
Grow the sport of Stand Up Paddling by showcasing the best paddlers in Victoria and Australia
Provide new comers to the sport with the opportunity to try Stand Up Paddling for the first time.
Provide novice paddlers with the opportunity to race in a SUP event for the first time and improve their skills via SUP clinics.
The event SUP – The Open is an integral part of the Frankston Waterfront Festival which attracts over 20,000 patrons fortwo days of fun and festivity on the beach area along side the iconic Frankston Pier.
